Its manufacturing process is based on the same original recipe developed by company founder Charles Kaman back in the '60s. Using incredibly sophisticated laser-based aerospace measurement machines, Ovation engineers plotted the movement of the guitar tops using different bracing patterns. Through some detailed analysis, they developed their scalloped X-bracing that achieved their goals. The result is a stable top that produces a rich, powerful sound that cuts through but is responsive at the same time. The Ovation CC48-PD guitar's cutaway shape on the upper bout, 25-1/4" scale, and 1-11/16" nut width adds comfort when playing intricate fret movements. The nato neck is strong and durable, and adds a considerable amount of clarity to the overall tone. The Ovation guitar's walnut bridge and rosewood fretboard provide clear sustain, while the multi-sound hole design features amazing volume and exotic hardwood. Other appointments on the Ovation Celebrity CC48-PD acoustic-electric guitar include abalone dot fretboard inlays, gold hardware, gold tuners, and a gloss finish. The included OP4BT preamp offers ±12dB control over the bass, midrange, and treble frequencies for great tonal flexibility.
