The eight plies of the shell are cross-laminated in an alternating vertical/horizontal grain pattern. I've been playing Ddrums for about two years now and over all they are great drums for a working drummer as they have reasonable prices for great products. This drum is no exception. I got this drum about a year ago to use as a side snare, and on some r&b/hip-hop type session work I've been doing recently. This drum is perfect for this type of stuff- you can crank this drum so high only your dogs will be able to hear it, and it never chokes out. It's super sensitive, which is great for the funky little ghost note type grooves I'm using it on. While this is one of ddrums pricier snares it was worth every penny- it's a keeper! |
